Assumption Knights of Columbus Pope St. John XXIII Council #15968
The Knights are a very active group at Assumption. Led by Grand Knight Bill Boniface, they organize a monthly “Food Sunday” for Caritas Food Bank, the Lenten food drive, 40 Cans for 40 Days, Coats for Kids, and a wheelchair drive. Along with Catholic Daughters, they host a clothing/necessities drive for Catholic Charities CAPA program. They continue to help strengthen our parish and community with their service and charity, which are at the heart and foundation of the Knights of Columbus.
Food Sunday Weekend Program
As the challenges of feeding those who are in need continues to grow, we will collect food on the first weekend of each month.
Food Sunday weekend will provide additional help through Caritas to our vulnerable population in northwest Spokane. In the link below, you will find a list of items that Caritas regularly needs. In order to try and provide for those particular items, they have been grouped according to the letter of your last name. this will hopefully streamline the flow of required items items.
Knights will be in the foyer of the church the first weekend of each month to accept your generous help. For those of you who would like to help, but cannot bring extra items into the church, there is also a donation jar available for cash donations.
This parish has always responded so generously to the appeal for extra help and we are so grateful for your support.
